Essays are invited on the topic of "Trollope and His World." Submissions may include essays focusing exclusively on the works of Anthony Trollope; comparative essays on Trollope and other writers; essays examining Trollope's work and career in the larger context of Victorian history, culture and society; historical or literary essays on topics central to Trollope's work and illuminated by his work; or essays on the reception of Trollope's work or on his larger cultural influence. The work and career of Anthony Trollope must be a major focus of the essay.
Undergraduate students are invited to submit essays on the topic of "Trollope and His World." Essays must be up to 4000 words in length, double-spaced in a 12 point standard font (Times New Roman, etc.) with standard margins. Undergraduate essays must have a faculty sponsor.
Additional criteria- One paper copy should be sent by mail to the address below; additionally, one electronic copy in PDF or Word form should be sent by email to the address below.
- To ensure a fair judging process, the writer's name and institutional affiliation must not appear anywhere on the essay itself. The title must appear on the first page of the essay.
- All essays must be accompanied by a cover sheet, which should include the following information: the writer's name, full contact information (address, phone, email), and undergraduate institution; the title of the essay; a signed statement verifying that the submission is an original essay by the student writer and that all citations are complete and correct; and the faculty sponsor's co-signature of this statement, along with his or her name and full contact information (title, department, address, phone, email).
Graduate students, as well as recent Ph.Ds no more than two years beyond the receipt of their doctorate, are invited to submit essays on the topic of "Trollope and His World." Essays must be unpublished, and should be up to 7500 words in length, double-spaced in a 12 point standard font with standard margins.
